El Barri Vell de Banyoles

  El Barri Vell de Banyoles (the ancient district), 2 km. far.

We recommend you visiting these places:

-La Plaça Major (Major Square) is one of the biggest arcaded square of Catalonia with 37archs.
It was built in XIII century when a new bourgeosisie was appearing.



Another places to visit are:

-La Porta dels Turers where was one of the wall doors.
-Sta. Maria dels Turers church was built in X century. But, nowadays it shows a primitive catalan gotic.
-El carrer Major (Major Street) was the main street the village and where the rich families lived.
-El Tint, la Pia Almoina, la Plaça del Monestir...
