Can Xargay is a beautiful and spacious holiday villa with charm of XI century located in the quiet and safe village of Mata (Porqueres), only 2 km. from Banyoles lake, 15 km. from the Natural Park of the Volcanic Zone of La Garrotxa and 35 km. from the beaches of the Costa Brava. Besides, it is also 15 km. from Girona city, 30 km. from the Dalí Museum in Figueres and 1 hour from the city of Barcelona. The house is in a walking distance from shops and restaurants and a short drive from Airport of Girona-Costa Brava (25 km.).

The accommodation is rented exclusively for a group from 10 up to 16 people, with 8 cosy bedrooms. The house is an accessible villa which is adapted for wheelchairs users. Besides, there are a fully equipped kitchen, large living room with TV satellite (international channels), air conditioning, central heating, large fireplace, games room with professional ping pong table and football table, dart board, board games, a kitchenette wooden for children..., a reading room, wellness center (health and wellness area), high speed internet - wifi.

Outside there is a beautiful garden with swings for children, a covered porch with barbecue which is ideal for eating outside all year round and a nice private heated swimming pool with an hydromassage bench. Besides, there is a charging point for electric cars.

The variety of landscapes in the Costa Brava region offers a lot of bucolic landscapes and artistic inspiration that make this area an unbeatable environment for family activities. Cycling, hiking, kayaking, canoeing on Banyoles lake are the most common sports. For this reason, Can Xargay is also a bike friendly villa. 100 meters from the house is the greenway that connects Serinyà - Banyoles - Girona.

Car is not necessary as you can arrive by public transport (bus).

  • Fabulous place, lovely people, superb cycling

    A group of us (16) cyclist and wives, stayed with Ratchel and her family, we had a great time, nothing was to much trouble for the family, from the delicious breakfasts, relaxing massages, help and advice, with walks, bike hire, taxis etc, etc. This is perfect for a large group, warm and cosy inside with a fab area out doors, it ticked all the boxes for all of us and we would love to return.

  • Wonderful house and location

    The owners of this property were especially attentive to our needs and requests. [...] The house is well appointed and plenty of room for our group of 12. The games room was a great hit as was the lovely swimming pool. Local knowledge and advice on places to visits, where to get coffee and cake and help organising a birthday cake to be made was so helpful. It is a short walk to local amenities and the beautiful lake and public transport is good, which means a car is not absolutely necessary. We would highly recommend this property.
